History of Mercury San Diego Track & Field
In 2002 Eddie Ford Jr & Priscilla Ford with a group of parents and grandparents came together to form Mercury San Diego Track & Field Club. We as a group, wanted our Children to run on a team that is truly dedicated to our kids.

Our first year we had 43 Athletes of which three advanced to the USATF 2003 Junior Olympics in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Our second year we had 72 Athletes of which 23 advanced to the USATF 2004 National Championship in Baltimore, Maryland.

Our third year we had 53 Athletes of which 10 advanced to the USATF 2005 National Championship in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Our fourth year we had 51 Athletes of which 3 advanced to the USATF 2006 National Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Our fifth year we had 66 Athletes, 4 advanced to the Sub-Bantam Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, and 26 advanced to the USATF 2007 Junior Olympics in Walnut, California.

Our sixth year we had 75 Athletes, 16 advanced to the Sub-Bantam championship in San Diego, CA, & 5 Sub-Bantams advanced to Las Vegas, Nevada, 14 advanced to the USATF 2008 National Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina winning 29 medals, and the overall Bantam Boys Division, and 2 advanced to the USATF 2008 Junior Olympics in Omaha, Nebraska.
